Pattern: Nine Patch
Proportion: 78" X 68"
Noteworthy Charm: Although I am no expert, this quilt appears to contain a plethora of 1800s fabrics, including calicos, shirtings, mourning prints, and indigos. The green calico pattern was used as binding for the original quilt. As is shown in the photos, parts of the binding were replaced in what looks to be a modern fabric, which has also worn down at the edges. The characteristics of a passing century add to the character of this beautiful piece and do not diminish its usability.
We pride ourselves in a multi-step cleaning process to restore these vintage beauties to snuggle worthy condition. It is ready to be enjoyed and with proper care, it will give many more years of enjoyment! Spot clean, when possible, and wash on delicate or by hand in cold water when necessary. Gently wring excess water and lay flat to dry.
Some imperfections such as discolorations, fading, tears, and stains are intrinsic to the character of vintage textiles & offer a historical patina to the original design.
