This one-of-a-kind item is made of vintage feed sack from anyone's guess. Most of the cotton pieces have a vintage feed sack feel, with some "newer" fabrics used to supplement the quilt pattern. It has been lovingly cleaned and repurposed by gifted artist, Lottie Dal, to bring comfort, style and warmth anew. This medium weight coat is made from a quilt that was both hand-pieced and hand quilted using a variation of a cross pattern. It is well loved and so soft to the touch, boasting imperfections, staining, and wear that are unique to its personality & beauty.
The patterns, colors, stitches, and stains enfold treasured memories of days gone by. They speak of a period of scarcity, when nary a scrap would go to waste. It features front pockets, snap closures, and a collar that punctuate the uniqueness of this piece.
With proper care, this heirloom piece will offer many more years of comfort and warmth. Hand wash, gently wring excess moisture, dry flat, and finish in dryer for ten minutes to restore softness.
